about us

Fairies, imps, witches, elves? We don’t know who, but it seems magic folk used their potions, tricks and enchantments to bring us together and tell their stories in this world!

A series of seemingly unrelated events led to us finding each other on social media, where we quickly discovered we were each other’s missing piece. Lydia, a writer. Emily, an illustrator.

We have collaborated together on projects for 3 years now, but all the while in the background, publishing our first childrens book was the goal.

Creating our own publishing company wasn’t in our original plan, but once again those sneaky, cheeky creatures wiggled their fingers and toes, and … POOF … Tree Keeper Books is here.

We have so many tales to tell you. That’s the job of a Tree Keeper you see, to keep these stories alive …

hello! I'm Lydia.

Born and raised in Wiltshire, England, where I still live today with my partner and our baby boy, becoming an author and working in the book industry has always been my dream.  I am so proud to have made it a reality and to be working alongside such an incredible artist. Thank you, Emily, for saying yes to this venture, for believing in me and in you, and for your friendship.

A few little things about me:

  • Books, tea, biscuits, and magical films are my love language.

  • I can’t whistle. I don’t know ANYONE else who can’t whistle!

  • Take me to a stage show and I will cry at least once, and sometimes from start to finish.

The most important thing to say is thank you to YOU for supporting Tree Keeper Books. We hope you fall as much in love with our characters and stories as we have.

hello! I'm Emily.

I grew up in a little village in the English countryside in Staffordshire. We had dogs and a cat and spent a lot of time outside, walking, cycling, playing in the garden and climbing trees. I did lots of drawing and making, and would draw while Mum read us bedtime stories.

When I left home, I moved to Hampshire, got a job working in the finance department at B&Q, got married, had two children and started illustrating alongside my finance job.

Today, I’m an accountant by day and an illustrator by night,  I still live in Hampshire, with my husband, our children and three crazy cocker spaniels.

When I first read Lydia's stories, I fell in love with her uplifting, funny and lighthearted writing style. I'm so grateful for our friendship and for her unshakable belief and unending patience. I knew right away that I wanted to bring this magical world to life with her, and I'm so excited that Aunt Moll and Tree Keeper Books are now a reality.

We're excited to share many more magical stories with you in the future!
